Family love is the bedrock of human existence, an unyielding anchor that generational divides can strain, but never destroy. True resilience lies in this stubborn endurance of the heart.
‘Limping Table’ – Ban An Khap Khieng – is a 3D animated short film exploring this emotional resilience within a modern Vietnamese family during Tet. The cultural gap between a traditional father and his Gen Z daughter is symbolized by three mismatched dining chairs. When a heated argument shatters a cherished family portrait and breaks a chair, their bond hits a precipice. Yet, resilience manifests not in rigid perfection, but in the willingness to bend and forgive. Discovering a childhood drawing among the debris reminds them that their love is indelible. By mending the broken chair with a vibrant Gen Z sticker, the father embodies a love that defeats ego. The film proves that family love remains an unbreakable sanctuary, showing that even ‘limping’ pieces can adapt to form a harmonious whole.
