In a contemporary era saturated with algorithms, existence is reduced to the cold binaries of 0 and 1. This collection counteracts this digital normalcy. Bypassing virtual screens, it uses human hands to reclaim the raw physical touch and sensory resilience of matter.Utilizing knit loops as the core medium, the design maps the binary “on-and-off” of digital systems onto the “presence and absence” within knitted structures. By gathering local factory deadstock fabrics, surplus yarns, and defected fibers from Taiwan—”useless” remnants frozen in time by strict industrial sorting—the collection breaks conventional rules through manual splicing and localized deconstruction, breathing new life into what was once discarded. As disparate yarns of contrasting weights collide, they weave organic gradients that evoke both traditional ink-wash paintings and digital glitch artifacts on the fabric’s surface.
