Project Aam Arc is an innovative, decentralized product design solution engineered to protect Indian mango orchards from the devastating impacts of climate-driven heat and water stress. By establishing a hyper-localized circular economy, the system repurposes cultural and agricultural waste streams—specifically compressed temple coconut husks, dried loofah sponge gourds, and aromatic khus grass—into modular, multi-layered climate shields. These natural sheets are rolled out and stretched tightly between sturdy bamboo rods anchored into the orchard soil, creating an ecological curtain between tree rows that deflects harsh solar radiation and regulates hot wind currents. Operating alongside a low-profile, ground-directed misting pipe that dampens the panels while protecting root zones, the design initiates a drop in local temperatures and creates a stabilized microclimate zone. This human-centred, 100% biodegradable intervention effectively prevent mango orchards ensuring SDG13.
