Centered on the Satoumi Initiative, our project envisions a sustainable museum embedded along the coast of Xinwu. We have reimagined the ancestral stone weir fishing technique as natural crayons, allowing travelers to color in the resilience and vibrancy of this coastal landscape.
These crayons are tactile artifacts of land and memory, inviting you to touch, layer, and depict the heritage of the stone weirs. With a lift-up packaging mechanism that draws inspiration from the shifting tides, the simple act of opening the box echoes the fisherman’s rhythm—it is an invitation for travelers to start their own narrative of Xinwu.
Collaborating with the Xinwu Stone Weir Association and Wuji Culture, we elevate these cultural insights into the museum’s “permanent collection.” Within this wall-less space, you are no longer a passerby, but a co-curator, helping to preserve and shape the future of our environment.
