SHOOT – Refillable Bamboo Pen

Plastic ballpoint pens are discarded once the ink runs out, not because the body has failed. SHOOT addresses this directly. A split bamboo body holds a standard ink refill in place through a friction-fit channel. When the ink is exhausted, the refill is removed and replaced in seconds without tools. The bamboo body remains in use indefinitely. Compatible with ballpoint, gel, and metal cartridges. Four working prototypes were built and tested to validate the refill system and grip comfort. SHOOT demonstrates that reducing waste does not require new technology, only a more considered approach to how an everyday object is made.
