The Islands’

“The Islands'” is a local design brand and ecological communication initiative dedicated to Taiwan’s offshore islands, with its debut focusing on the restricted Keelung Islet. While many will never set foot on this land, its igneous rocks, endangered flora, and native fauna deserve to be remembered and explored. This project translates the natural history of Keelung Islet into an interactive physical archive, featuring a 15×15 cm handbook, frottage cards, and three distinct triangular crayon boxes containing 15 microscopic sculptural crayons. Through the visual language of scientific filing and tactile interaction, we bring the island to you—hoping that one day, you will visit it in person.
