Beyond the Boundaries of Language: An Exhibition Reinterpreting the Language of Taiwan’s Minorities

There are about 7,097 languages in the world, but 90% of the population uses only around 300. Language goes beyond communication—it contributes to cultural diversity and the sustainability of the global ecosystem. We reinterpret the endangered indigenous languages of Taiwan from a Korean perspective to emphasize the importance of language preservation and diversity. Through artworks that recombine text, sound, and symbols, visitors experience the identity of language and its cultural diversity.
