2.For the electronic files of the work submission, please use your member account (Email) and password to log in to the official website for uploading. The upload period is from 8:00 AM on September 23rd (Sat) to 4:00 PM on September 27th (Tue).

Instructions for 2nd stage of work submission:

A. Mail printout(s) — (Finalists of Digital Animation Category do NOT need to mail printout.)

Please mail at most 3 printouts of your entry on A2 size (Portrait Format: L59.4cm×W42cm or Landscape Format: L42cm×W59.4cm). The printout(s) should NOT be mounted on cardboards/paperboards. The content of the printout(s) should be the same as the content of the electronic files you uploaded for 1st stage of work submission. And must reach the TISDC office by 4:00 PM on September 27th (Tue).

Please download the entry information sheet and fill out the forms. The hardcopy of the entry information sheet(click here) should be pasted in the lower right corner at the back of your printout(s.) Every printout should be pasted with one entry information sheet.

C. Upload other required documents:

1. Upload a scanned file of student ID card or school enrollment certificate. 

* Every designer should upload his/her own student ID card or school enrollment certificate.
* For participants who just graduated this year, please upload a scanned file of your certificate of degree/diploma with month and year of graduation on it instead.

2. Upload a scanned file of proof of date of birth (e.g. Passport/ Driver’s License/Identity Certificate) 

* Every designer should upload his/her own proof of date of birth.
* If the designer could not provide any of the documents mentioned above before the due date of 2nd stage of work submission, he/she will be regarded as abandoning his/her qualification for being the finalist.

Important Notes:

1. An overdue submission will be regarded as the abandonment of the participant’s qualification for being the finalist.

2. Please use your registered email address and password to log into the official website of TISDC to upload files.

3. If the submitted work is involved in plagiarism, copyright infringement, or other legal violations or is proven to be unoriginal design, or to have fraudulently copied ideas from other person’s work, the organizer of TISDC shall have the rights to disqualify the participant from participating in the competition.

4. If you need the competition to print your poster on your behalf, please contact the TISDC office.

5. During the processes of final selection, award ceremony, exhibition and portfolio editing, we may contact you through emails or phone calls. 2023 Taiwan International Student Design Competition

Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC), the largest-scale student design competition worldwide, is organized by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education (Taiwan). This year, TISDC is sponsored by iSee Taiwan Foundation, Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation, and TPCA Environment Foundation and executed by the Department of Visual Communication Design, Asia University. TISDC is now in its sixteenth year. The theme of this year’s competition is “Compassion.” This year, TISDC received 18,367 entries from 1,161 schools/departments in 56 countries/regions. The number of participating entries showcased a notable scale.

After the pandemic, Taiwan reopened its borders, and the Taiwan International Student Creative Design Competition was held the physical final selection again after three years. The final selection for the 2023TISDC took place at the multi-showcase exhibition hall in of Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei on October 12th. The selection included the categories of “Product Design,” “Visual Design,” “Digital Animation,” and “TPCA Specified.” The jury consisted of 6 conveners, 9 design experts from Taiwan, 5 international design masters in different fields and 21 representatives of  the international design organizations that 2023TISDC is collaborating with, including Kevin Swanepoel from The One Club for Creativity /ADC Awards (ADC)、Piotr Swiatek from The Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA)、Pichit Virankabutra from Creative Economy Agency (CEA)、Pradyumna Vyas from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)、Roberto Muntoreanu from Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition (CIIPE)、Jacinto Quesnel from Cumulus Global Association of Art and Design Education and Research (Cumulus)、Keith Oh from Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS)、Leo Chan from Hong Kong Federation of Design and Creative Industries (FHKDCI)、Sara Pontoppidan from Good Design Australia (GDA)、Stefan Anderl from German Design Council (GDC)、Juliet Kavishe from International Council of Design (ICoD)、Eugenio Hendro from The Indonesia Design Development Center (IDDC)、Carlos Gonzalez Manjarrez from International Poster Biennial in Mexico (IPBM)、Koji Iyama from Japan Graphic Design Association (JAGDA)、Hiroaki Watanabe from Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP)、Yoo Yoonho from Korea Ensemble of Contemporary Design (KECD)、Chao Sio Leong from Macau Designers Association(MDA)、David Appiah from Pan-Afrikan Design Institute (PADI)、Chia-Chang Yang from Taiwan Design Alliance(TdA)、Nidhi Isaac from The Design Alliance Asia (tDA Asia)、Thomas Garvey from World Design Organization® (WDO).

The selection of works was attentive in presenting the meaning of the theme “Compassion” by the jury panel. This allowing the judges to see more diversity in students’creativities. Through this event, it is not only making the international exchange increased, but has also allowed us to see different perspectives and viewpoints. We believe it has also allowed international judges to see Taiwan’s emphasis on design once again.

The International Design Masters Lecture Series in Northern and Central Taiwan were held at 5 campuses on October 13, which attracted more than 550 attendees. The 5 campuses include Hsing Wu University, China University of Technology, Ming Chi University of Technology, National Taiwan Normal University and Asia University. 12 lecturers from the International Design Associations that Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) is collaborating with and 2 designers from Taiwan gave a lecture in these schools. Thanks to the directors and teachers of these schools for co-executing the lecture series with TISDC.The representatives from iSee Taiwan Foundation and Saylin Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation also attended the lecture series to support this event.

The speakers from Hsing Wu University include Roberto Muntoreanu, representing the Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition (CIIPE); Yoo Yoonho, representing the Korea Ensemble of Contemporary Design (KECD); and Chao Sio Leong, representing the Macau Designers Association (MDA). From China University of Technology, Keith Oh represents the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS). Ming Chi University of Technology has Carlos Gonzalez Manjarrez, representing the International Poster Biennial in Mexico (IPBM); Sara Pontoppidan, representing Good Design Australia (GDA); and Eugenio Hendro, representing The Indonesia Design Development Center (IDDC).National Taiwan Normal University features speakers Pradyumna Vyas, representing the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Koji Iyama, representing the Japan Graphic Design Association (JAGDA).Asia University presents Taiwanese designers Shi-Kai Tseng and Ouyang Aining, along with Nidhi Isaac, representing The Design Alliance Asia (tDA Asia), and Leo Chan, representing the Hong Kong Federation of Design and Creative Industries (FHKDCI). Through these speakers’ sharing, we can gain insights into different cultural design perspectives and inspirations, enriching our own design horizons. They can all serve as sources of creativity for us.

Thanks to the 5 campuses for supporting and helping TISDC promote the exchange between international designers and the students. Special thanks were given to Prof. Jeff Wong from Hsing Wu University,Prof. Zhang Shengquan from China University of Technology, Director Jiang Runhua from Ming Chi University of Technology, Director Su Wenqing from National Taiwan Normal University and Director Fang Xiaowei from Asia University. Thanks again for everyone’s active participation, which made the International Design Masters Lecture Series round off successfully. On December 1st, TISDC is going to hold this year’s award ceremony at the Eslite Performance Hall in the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. We welcome everyone’s attendance. See you in December.

Organized by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the Republic of China (R.O.C., Taiwan), the world’s largest international student design competition announced the winners of the “2023 Taiwan International Student Design Competition”. The R.O.C., Taiwan’s students’ creative energies have received a high degree of recognition in the international arena, with a total of 42 entries from R.O.C., Taiwan students winning many awards, including the Gold Award in “Visual Design”, “Digital Animation”, the “International Design Association Special Prize”, “Environmental Sustainability Award”, “Special Region Award” and “Chiayi City Special Prize”.

With the theme of “Compassion”, the 2023 Taiwan International Student Design Competition expects students from all over the world to observe and care more about the world and even the daily life around them, and by their designs to make the world a better place with a heartfelt and caring mindset. There were 18,367 entries from 1,161 institutions in 56 countries and regions around the world. There were 741 entries for finalists selected by 42 judges in the product design category, 42 judges in the visual design category, and 28 judges in the digital animation category, with a total of 112 professional judges from 23 countries around the world. In the final stage, 11 judges from each of the three categories of Product Design, Visual Design and Digital Animation, and 15 judges for Environmental Sustainability, from 28 countries around the world, selected 85 award-winning works for the “2023 Taiwan International Student Design Competition”. The finalist rate was only 4%, and the winning rate was only 0.46%, which is a very high level of difficulty, and demonstrates that the winning entries were both rare and valuable.

The awards of this competition included one Grand Prix which was financed by the MOE, as well as one Gold Prize, one Silver Prize, three Bronze Prizes, and 12 Honorable Mentions in each of the three categories of “Product Design”, “Visual Design”, and “Digital Animation”. There were 21 International Design Association Special Prizes co-sponsored by the iSee Taiwan Foundation and the Sayling Wen Cultural and Educational Foundation, as well as three Environmental Sustainability Awards and six Special Region Awards sponsored by the TPCA Environment Foundation, and one Chiayi City Special Prize and two Chiayi City Honorable Mentions in cooperation with the Chiayi City Government.

The Grand Prix winner was “Emergency Shield” by student Na Yu Jin of the University of Ulsan, South Korea, who will receive a prize of 400,000 NT dollars. The Gold Prize winners in the three categories were “Ourhour”, a product design by student Yunho Kim of Kookmin University, South Korea, “DASHAN HAWAN”, a visual design by students Tzu-Ling Kuo, Tz-Chi Mao and Yu-Ru Hsu from China University of Technology, R.O.C., Taiwan, and “Set Sail,” a digital animation, by students Yen-Ling Chen, Jo-Ti Lee, Yu-Ting Huang, Wei-Ju Wang, and Ting-Xiu Chen, National Taiwan University of Arts, R.O.C., Taiwan.

The MOE is scheduled to hold an award ceremony and exhibition of the winning entries on December 1st at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park Eslite Performance Hall. From December 5th to 14th, the exhibition will be moved to the National Library of Public Information in Taichung, and we welcome everyone to come and visit. Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) 2024 campus tour promotional event arrived at National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School on May 3rd (friday)! Under the Department of Advertisement Design, we promoted the event together with the project manager of Design-International Design Competition (IDC),with 118 participants joining in the promotion on-site. The theme of this competition is “Equality,” and we aim to link it with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations in 2015 for achievement by 2030. We call on students to treat others with equal respect and care,and through this promotion,further educate the audience on the competition’s regulations.

Finally,we express our special thanks to National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School for their warm invitation,allowing the project to reach a wider audience. Also grateful for Ming-Jie Hong teacher ‘s assistance,and the active participation of everyone involved contributed to the successful conclusion of this promotional event!

On May 6, 2024, the Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) led by project director Professor Apex Lin and project associate director Lecturer Miira Lin, along with the execution team, visited Malaysia. They met with Ezrena Marwan, the founder of the Malaysia Design Archive, and Melisa Wong, the president of the Graphic Design Association of Malaysia (wREGA).

During the meeting, there was fruitful discussion. Professor Apex Lin specifically noted the successful international promotion of the TISDC in Malaysia in recent years and expressed gratitude to Professor Siow Yin Yoong for recommending TISDC. Since last year, the number of submissions from Malaysia has exceeded 400, achieving excellent results.

On the day of promotion, the TISDC team also visited the Malaysia Design Archive, where founder Ezrena Marwan shared many brilliant graphic design collections with historical and cultural significance in Malaysia.

At the end of today’s schedule, Professor Apex Lin, Lecturer Miira Lin, and the TISDC team met with William Harald Wong, founder of tDA Asia, with whom TISDC has collaborated for many years. The most exciting news is that tDA Asia will continue to support TISDC this year and will remain one of the members of D21. In the future, they will continue to support TISDC’s promotion in Malaysia and actively assist in expanding TISDC’s promotional territory to Middle Eastern countries such as Dubai.

Finally, special thanks to Ms. Ezrena Marwan, founder of the Malaysia Design Archive, Ms. Melisa Wong, president of the Graphic Design Association of Malaysia (wREGA), William Harald Wong, founder of tDA Asia, and Professor Siow Yin Yoong for her assistance in arranging the visit.

Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC), a remarkable international competition in Taiwan design education, is in its seventeenth year. Led by Project Director Prof. Apex Lin and Lecturer Miira Lin, the executive team of TISDC visited Malaysia on 7th May and promoted TISDC at Universiti Teknologi MARA. In total, around 60 teachers and students furthermore director Bradrul Kahar Mohd Yusof and the executives from the Galeri Shah Alam joined the promotional events together.

Targeting on the theme, “Equality, “of this year’s competition, the associate project director of TISDC, Lecturer Miira Lin, not only introduced the history of TISDC to the attendees but also shared some of the winning works with everyone, hoping to inspire the students who are interested in joining the competition and creating some sparkles in diverse cultures and design. Lecturer Miira also mentioned that the theme for this fiscal year is a conceptual initiative on the issue of equality. She encouraged students to accumulate their design energy, view things and difficulties from distinct perspectives, and try their best to stand in others’ shoes when solving problems and doing design.

Special thanks to Prof. Dr. Sharipah Ruzaina Syed Aris, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Khairezan Rahmat, Prof Dr Roslaili Anuar of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM Punchak Alam) and Prof. Siow Yin Yoong for helping TISDC arrange the promotional events and invite all the teachers and students to join. With their assistance and support, the promotional events had rounded off. We hope design schools in Malaysia could keep paying attention to and actively participate in TISDC. We look forward to all the works!

The Project Director Prof. Apex Lin and Lecturer Miira Lin led the executive team to visit and promote TISDC at UCSI University on 7th May. Around 35 teachers and students joined the promotional events together.

The promotion campaign is mainly about introducing the theme“Equality”. Lecturer Miira Lin shared many past winning works from Malaysia. She suggested students to connect with the sustainable development goals for the design works. We hope to see that everyone can bring their past design works to participate TISDC this year.

Special thanks to Prof Dr Perline Siek from UCSI University and Prof. Siow Yin Yoong for helping TISDC arrange the promotional events and invite all the teachers and students to join. With their assistance and support, the promotional events had rounded off. We look forward to all the student’s participation in 2024TISDC.

On 7th May, 2024, the executive team of Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) was led by the Project Director Prof. Apex Lin and Lecturer Miira Lin, to promote this year’s competition at Sunway University. Around 95 teachers and students joined the promotional events together.

The project leader, Professor Apex Lin, he gave a lecture to introduce the TISDC project to the teachers and students of Sunway University. The associate project director of TISDC, Lecturer Miira Lin, revealed that “Equality” is the theme of this year’s competition and it’s a concept rooted in affective commitment. Thus, Lecturer Lin hopes to encourage students of all nations to observe and care about the issues around them and in the world.

Special thanks to Dr Goh Yi Sheng from Sunway University and Prof. Siow Yin Yoong for helping TISDC arrange the promotional events and invite all the teachers and students to join the event. With their assistance and support, the promotional events had rounded off. We hope design schools in Malaysia could keep following the news of TISDC and actively participate in the competition. We look forward to everyone’s excellent works.

The online registration and work submissions of 2024 Taiwan International Student Design Competition (2024TISDC) will start on 13th of this month!
In order to let more students know about this year’s competition, the executive team of 2024TISDC has visited many design schools, holding promotional campaigns. On 10th May, the executive team of 2024TISDC went to the Taipei Municipal Shilin High School of Commerce not only to promote this year’s competition but also took this opportunity to share these excellent works with the attendees, hopes to inspire and encourage the students to show the world their designs. There were about 200 people on the scene.

The theme of 2024TISDC is ” Equality “, which is related to the Sustainable Development Goals (the SDGs) proposed by the United Nations in 2015. TISDC hopes that young designers can calls on students to treat others with the same level of respect and warmth, and co-create a more beautiful and diverse society through the power of design.

Finally, we would like to thank again to Mr. Ren-He Li for helping TISDC organize the promotional campaign. We also look forward to seeing students from Taipei Municipal Shilin High School of Commerce can get good results and win awards in 2024TISDC.

Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) 2024 campus tour promotional event arrived at Taipei Jingwen High School on May 10th (Friday)! 

Under the enthusiastic invitation of Taipei Jingwen High School, with two hundred participants joining in the promotion on-site. The theme of this competition is “Equality,” and we aim to link it with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations in 2015 for achievement by 2030. We call on students to treat others with equal respect and care, and through this promotion, further educate the audience on the competition’s regulations.

At the end of the event, we would like to extend our special thanks to Taipei Jingwen High School for their invitation, and to all the teachers and students who participated in this event. Special mention goes to the teacher Min-Han Xie for his assistance. The enthusiastic participation of everyone made this promotional event a complete success.

The Project Director Prof. Apex Lin and Lecturer Miira Lin led the executive team to visit and promote TISDC at SEGi University and Colleges on 8th May. Around 80 teachers and students joined the promotional events together.

The promotion campaign is mainly about introducing the theme“Equality”. Lecturer Miira Lin shared many past winning works from Malaysia. She suggested students to connect with the sustainable development goals for the design works. We hope to see that everyone can bring their past design works to participate TISDC this year.
